TESTIMONIALS
"My son had some terrible early childhood years in public school. Always in trouble for fidgeting, talking, and normal little boy behavior. As years past, we found that he was autistic along with his already known ADHD. His behavior got worse, and was pretty defiant the older he got. He could not grasp certain things like the others. He is smart, but doesn’t like to show his work (slacking is part of his autism). He was denied being gifted because his tcap scores didn’t reflect that, and I simply don’t agree with test results being the factor in that. He gets bored midway through. Beside being labeled as the trouble kid, getting yelled at and punished constantly in public school, we simply had enough especially when he started writing he hates his life on his homework assignments (almost impossible to get through them in the evenings). When I first heard of Anniston Academy, I watched the video of Kathryn and Erin and learned their goals, vision, and dream for this school. I agreed with everything they had to offer. They were like me, in the same boat with their children, and knew that to make a stand and do what was best for their children that change was needed. I knew then that was a place where my little boy could thrive and not be judged by how he is. I knew that he could learn here, and not feel threatened in his environment. I knew that I would do whatever I could to get him in this school and prayed that he would benefit. It has been a huge blessing and huge relief to all of us, especially him! He loves his teachers and therapists. He trusts them, and he feels safe and secure in his environment there. He can be himself. That’s all that a mother could want for their children, no matter their circumstance. You can tell the staff and the owners have poured their heart and soul into getting this up and going, and it shows. I just know that this school will keep growing and do great things."

"Anniston Academy has been a legitimately answered prayer for me. I homeschooled my son last year for kindergarten and as a neurodivergent mom I didn’t think I was meeting his needs—socially or academically. The idea of putting my son in school and being away from him for 8 hours a day broke my heart. I was so torn on what to do. I then saw an advertisement for Anniston Academy and read about how they are primarily able to serve neurodivergent children (ASD, ADHD, gifted, etc.). We were accepted and my son has absolutely thrived. He loves going to school and is excited to see his friends and teachers every day. He asks when he gets to go back to school during school breaks and on weekends. I’m so thankful for the community we have found through Anniston Academy. They are truly a blessing to our community."

“When you walk through the doors, you can feel the love and sacrifice that built this place. Anniston Academy wasn’t funded by big donors — it was created by people who cared enough to do it anyway.”
— Parent of a Kindergartener
“Anniston Academy has changed our son’s life. The team here built this school from the ground up — out of their own pockets, with no community funding — simply because they believed kids like mine deserved better. That kind of heart can’t be bought.”
— Parent of a 3rd Grader
"Anniston Academy truly is an answer to our prayers. I dealt with public school for 5 years before I found about Anniston Academy for my 8 year old little boy (he is in 3rd grade). This has been the first year where I am able to relax more and know my boy is in very good hands. He is thriving and growing in so many areas only God could have done it. I don’t live in Cookeville , so I have to drive 30 minutes to bring my boy to school and 30 minutes back, but it’s so worth it. I would do it even if I have to drive one hour. Anniston Academy and the entire staff are the most hard working and resilient people I know. They are very loving and caring and they are daily in my prayers. Thank you Anniston Academy."

"Finding the right school for both of our children has been a long journey. Our son is neurodivergent, and our daughter is neurotypical, and for years, we struggled to find a place where they could both thrive together. In preschool, we were often reassured that our son’s needs would be supported, only to be asked to withdraw him later when teachers realized they weren’t equipped to provide the extra attention he needed. Public school was a slight improvement, but it still lacked the resources to truly support him — which meant we had to coordinate multiple third-party therapies and services on our own. It was exhausting and heartbreaking to watch him struggle, and as parents, we constantly felt on edge, never knowing when we might get another call asking us to pick him up early.
Anniston Academy has changed everything for our family. For the first time, our son has a safe, loving environment where he can learn and grow without constant challenges or disruptions. The school provides the therapies he needs in-house, works with our insurance and funding sources, and truly partners with us to make sure he has everything he needs to succeed. We no longer have to juggle therapy schedules or IEP meetings — it’s all seamlessly integrated into his school day.
And just as importantly, our daughter is thriving too. We worried that she might not get the same social and academic engagement she needed, but she’s made wonderful friends and grown so much in her love of learning. Seeing both of our children happy, confident, and excited about school every day has been an incredible blessing.
Anniston Academy has been an answer to our prayers. It’s a community that is loving, inclusive, and understanding — a place where both our children can flourish side by side. We are so deeply grateful to Kathryn, Erin, and everyone at Anniston Academy for creating a school where every child feels seen, supported, and valued."

“Every therapist and teacher here truly cares. My child has grown more in a few months at Anniston than in three years anywhere else."
