Meet Magnolia and Birdie: Anniston Academy’s Newest (and Fluffiest) Staff Members

We’re thrilled to introduce two very special additions to the Anniston Academy team: Magnolia and Birdie, our future therapy dogs! These sweet Cavalier King Charles Spaniels will be joining our school community to provide comfort, connection, and a little extra joy to our students and staff.

🌸 Meet Magnolia and Birdie

Magnolia and Birdie are sisters who will be living with our Head of School, Erin, and beginning their training for certification as therapy dogs later this summer.

Once fully certified, Magnolia and Birdie will support students across all age groups by helping reduce anxiety, fostering connection, and promoting emotional regulation during the school day.

🐾 Why Therapy Dogs Matter

At Anniston Academy, we believe that every child thrives in an environment where they feel safe, supported, and emotionally connected. Therapy dogs have been shown to:

• Lower stress and anxiety levels

• Encourage empathy and emotional awareness

• Improve classroom engagement

• Provide grounding and comfort during transitions or tough moments

Magnolia and Birdie will work alongside our educators and therapy team to become part of our everyday support system.

We’ll be sharing updates along the way so families can follow their progress—and yes, there will be lots of puppy pictures! We’re confident these gentle pups will quickly become beloved members of the Anniston Academy family.
